Meena Augustus, MS. Ph.D.

Dr. Meena Augustus , Ph.D., is a co-founder, CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of Shréis-Scalene Sciences. She is also the co-founder and Executive VP  of Shreis Cardiotech and the VP of Shreis Scalene Greenergy LLC.  With her experience as a Co-founder of Avalon Pharmaceuticals Inc. a 55-people biotech company, located in Germantown, MD, USA and having helped take it public,  Meena Augustus has been able to provide the Shreis management team with valuable managemnt and scientific insights. She helps  Shreis identify  Strategic Scientific Initiatives relevant to oncology and cardiovascular research. Dr. Augustus's domestic and international expertise is of paramount importance to our company. She also served on the Advisory Board of the BioIT Coalition (www.bioitcoalition.org), in Washington DC.

 During her career, Dr. Augustus has served in premier research institutions in India , Germany , France and the U.S.   For 18 years she was a member of the oncology faculty in a UICC-affiliated, 250-bedded Comprehensive Cancer Research, Treatment and Teaching Hospital in Bangalore , India , as Professor and Head, Department of Cell-biology & Pathology.  Dr. Augustus has held a visiting scientist position at Human Genome Sciences Inc., in Rockville , MD; as a consultant at the Center for Prostate Disease Research (USUHS/Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine) in Rockville , MD.; as a scientist in the Lymphoma Biology Section of the Pediatric Branch  and the Cancer Genetics Group at the NCI / NIH, and the Genome Technology Branch of the NHGRI/NIH in Bethesda, MD.  She has a significant publication record of original articles in peer reviewed journals, text book chapters and invited talks in key industrial forums.
